Very good quality crochet hooks can be ordered in different thicknesses, namely 1.75mm, 1.50mm, 1.25mm, 1.00mm and 0.90mm. The soft handle fits comfortably in the hand and does not slip easily. The tip has a smooth finish and glides smoothly along the threads. These crochet hooks are especially for round crocheting with seed beads.

The smaller the bead or the thinner the thread (after all, thick thread will not fit through the smallest beads), the thinner the crochet hook. The most commonly used sizes are:
• 6/0 seed beads: crochet hook 1.5 or 1.75
• 8/0 seed beads: crochet hook 1.25 or 1.5
• 11/0 seed beads: crochet hook 0.9 or 1
The crochet hook should be large enough to easily grab the thread but small enough so that the stitches are still nice and tight against each other.
